The Foundation provides the building free of charge so that the organization can fulfill the purpose for which the Home was created. As autonomous entities, each organization is responsible for the services and activities they offer within the Home, as well as the resources they need to sustain their operations.
The City of Joy project is based on the concept that “the whole is greater than the sum of its parts”. In its essence, it is a collaborative project and there are two guiding principles which allow the project to function smoothly on a daily basis:
Synergy:
The ongoing and open interaction and communication between the Foundation, Homes and Programs which allows us to generate new ideas and responses in order to better use the available resources and fulfill our potential.
Subsidiarity:
Implies that the Foundation, Homes and Programs should take decisions at the level as close to the beneficiary as possible. Any action taken at a higher level must be justified by the wider scale of the benefits it will generate.
