The state of Quintana Roo, home to internationally renowned  tourist destinations Cancun and the Riviera, has experienced a steep rise in population growth over recent decades. Unfortunately, the development of its most valuable resource – its people – has not advanced at a par with its economic development, a situation which has generated a wide range of social needs.

The City of Joy Foundation was created to respond to this situation. Founded in 2000, it aims to address the most pressing social needs and encourage the spread of love for others and human dignity as essential human values.
